I’ve known Myn for some years now and when he messaged me out of the blue asking if I still photographed weddings, I knew something exciting was afoot. I said I did, and he asked if I’d be interested in photographing his, of course I said yes.
I first met Emma at The Mill in Elstead, Surrey – the lovely pub my wife and I got married in – at a wedding fair I was exhibiting at back in February 2018, she was lovely… of course and we went over some of the details for their big day, shook hands and the deal was done.
Fast forward to 3 August 2019 and the day of Emma and Myn’s wedding and you can see for yourselves just how stylish and lovely they both looked. I expected nothing less as they both work for leading US tech companies and Myn likes his classic American cars.
Emma’s dress was striking but I had to ask her how to describe it. It is a 1950s tea-length vintage inspired dress and it perfectly accompanied the pink Cadillac and yellow Chevrolet they had chosen to transport her and her bridesmaids to Grittenham Barn, the stunning venue near Midhurst and Petworth in West Sussex. I have to say Myn looked pretty cool in his grey three piece and Aviators too.
They were married by registrars at the venue and straight after we went into the group photos, followed by portraits of the fabulous couple in the grounds of the barn. The food was excellent – despite me having ‘given up’ red meat, rare barbequed beef and salad was all that was on the menu and I’m afraid to say I wolfed it down I was so hungry. The speeches were moving and the dancing exploded as soon as the band struck up their first tune, no shrinking violets here tonight I thought.
All in all it was an excellent day and brilliant evening too, the weather held up and it was a happy and relaxed affair – what more can you ask for?
